Medical Assistant

$18–$25 per hour

Position summary

Good Health NC is seeking a medical assistant with sound clinical judgment, clear communication, and a calm, patient-focused approach. Our new outpatient clinic focuses on physical, mental, and overall wellness. In this role, you will help patients feel welcomed, respected, and supported throughout their visit.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, collect histories and vital signs, update medical conditions and medications, and communicate routine and urgent matters with providers.
• Perform common medical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collections.
• Administer medications and treatments and assist providers with procedures.
• Coordinate referrals and prior authorization requests.
• Work closely with providers and the rest of the team to keep patient care organized.
• Protect patient privacy in every conversation and record.

Qualifications

• Medical assistant training or certification preferred (CMA, CNA, or EMT), or equivalent clinical experience.
• Comfort with triage, obtaining vital signs, and basic clinical procedures such as EKGs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and medication administration.
• Strong communication skills and a calm, caring approach with patients.
• Accurate documentation and comfort learning electronic health record systems.
• Primary care, urgent care, or emergency department experience preferred.
• Must be energetic and a team player.
